Morgantown is a city in Monongalia County, West Virginia, on the banks of the Monongahela River and is part of the Pittsburgh DMA. Morgantown is the largest city in North-Central West Virginia and is the principal city of and is included in the Morgantown, West Virginia Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The population was 26,809 at the 2000 census. Morgantown is home to West Virginia University, which constitutes 913 acres (3.7 km²) of the city and vicinity, and with the fall 2005 enrollment added an additional population of 26,051 students from every state, the District of Columbia, and 89 other nations. Morgantown is the county seat of Monongalia CountyGR6. The city was founded by Zackquill Morgan.
During the 1970s, the U.S. Department of Transportation built an experimental personal rapid transit system in the city, citing the area's variety of seasonal climates and geographic elevations as factors in testing the technology's viability. -- Source: Wikipedia.com

[ June 2, 2012; 8:00 am; ] The second annual Ridge to River 10 Mile Trail Run will happen on June 2, 2012. The race is sponsored by St. Mary's Hospital and will take place at the Barboursville Park. Race starts at 8:00am. New this year is a 4 mile trail run on the sane course.
